light can shine through the card when held against a window. This makes it
easy to mark the dots on your punch card.

lines between bands of fair isle.

There is a maximum of either five or six stitches in any one colour, so
there are no long loops of wool at the back of the knitting to catch on
rings, watches or little fingers.
